Developmentally disabled get budget victory

 

Ohio’s low-income families with a member who has a developmental disability are celebrating a recent move by state legislators to revise the governor’s budget proposal.

The revision keeps in tact funding for the Bureau of Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH), which each year serves 40,000 disabled children in Ohio. The bureau helps cover medical costs not covered by insurance.
